Pala Mesa Emergency Shutdown Update

Rainbow Water crews have been working around the clock to repair a significant main line break in the Pala Mesa area.

On Sunday, November 16, shortly after noon, crews responded to a leak on an 18-inch transmission line near Lake Tree Drive. An emergency shutdown was conducted at approximately 2:00 p.m. to isolate the damaged section, initially impacting 16 customers.

The location of the break is extremely difficult to access, which slowed the delivery of safety equipment and required overnight excavation to reach the pipeline.

On Monday afternoon, November 17, complications with the repair required a larger emergency shutdown, which impacts an estimated 118 Rainbow Water customers in the Pala Mesa area.

Crews continue to work around the clock to complete repairs as safely and quickly as possible. Water service is expected to resume within the next few hours, barring any unforeseen complications.

We appreciate your patience while our crews work to restore service.
